This is a belated birthday shoutout to both my brother in laws whom both recently celebrated their birthdays .. wow you both are way into your thirties now eh! And chose today the 29th day of February coz it's a special day la!

As the days draws closer to March 8, billboards such as this has been sprouting up like shrooms .. errr .. mushrooms .. it is quite amusing to see especially this one which was at Lorong Utara PJ, shameless advertising I say! What really comes to mind when you see something like this .. As for I .. I was flabbergasted! .. and wah .. only one choice..

Bunny Stars

A few days ago Niki decided that she would like to have honey stars for her breakfast instead of the plain old jam/butter sandwich or cornflakes that I serve her. She got bored I guess. So being super mom (ahaks!) I went to MaxValu and got her a pack yesterday. So guess what Niki had for breakfast this morning .. yup!

Me : Here's your honey stars..it's on the table waiting for you to gobble them down

Niki : *still blurry from sleep* mmm..want bunny stars

Me : yes it's on the table

Niki : rolled out of bed and went to her table, mmm... i love bunny stars mummy!

Me : It's not bunny stars .. it's honey stars, say it with me .. H-o-n-e-y ... S-t-a-r-s

Niki : ohhh .. honey stars ok

a few minutes later ..

Niki: Mummy, I'm gonna share my bunny stars with my friends

Me : No baby it's honey stars

Niki : No..mummy, it's bunny stars, B-U-N-N-Y S-T-A-R-S with much more emphasism

Me : Ok la, bunny stars, pun bunny stars la ..

It Ain't Always the Butler!

I have a huge vice.
I like to read about a movie before I watch it, why? So that I can pick movies that I really like to watch, something light , funny & summery. I don’t actually feel the need to watch films like the Oscar favourites and winners There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men but rather films such as Juno (also quite Oscar-worthy but snubbed for some reason..maybe because it wasn’t “serious” enough) or Enchanted for those Disney lovers that will never grow up and still have happy dreams about princesses and their adventures (like ME!)

Sometime last weekend I managed to catch the trailer for Vantage Point and it looked wow rather interesting, that was until I read the summary of the movie here, and pretty much think I may give it a miss..afterall the hype ..and Matthew Fox (darn waste!).



I watched Juno (see vid above *points up* it's a song in the opening scene called All I Want Is You) and the The Darjeeling Ltd last weekend and absolutely loved the quirky sense of humour in both movies and how it deals with true human emotions but just not that seriously. My hubby really love It girl dujour Ellen Page – one thing’s for sure Lindsay Lohan she ain’t & tons of talent to boot!

I'm in love with my man, more so now that ever before, and as quoted by Barbie (yes, Barbie) .. we can never love less, our heart can always make more room for love

And why?

Because Vicky is such a loving and affectionate father to Niki

Whenever I see those two together it just melts my heart and warms it with a dizzying amount of love

The feeling in indescribable ..

My favorite thing about my husband as a dad is how he teaches Niki how to be funny. She has a great sense of humor and it's all because of him.

So, honey, if I've never told you before, I am truly blessed to have someone as wonderful as you as my husband and you're such a terrific dad to Niki as well. You make it look so effortless, so natural, and I thank God for you everyday

Krung Thep Maha Nakhon

With AirAsia and Mas whatnot having all these sales and so forth makes me feel like travelling, I am so, so tempted to just log on and use my Visa recklessly and book myself & the little family a holiday. But more so, is how much I missed Bangkok, I haven’t been back there for almost 2 years now and somehow I don’t know what is it about this bustling Thai metropolitan that I love so much. I have a good inkling though, I think I love Bangkok for its smell, its way of live, its look&feel and its people. I miss Bangkok and I wish I can get the time to go back there again.

And I guess I truly respect their people and how much they revere their King. I have a band at home that says Long Live the King, and every Monday (their King was born on a Monday), the people of Thailand will wear their yellow polo necked T with the royal crest on the left side as a sign of respect. And they do it in unity, almost everyone dresses this way on a Monday.

One have to go there and experience the city to know what I’m talking about, a lot of people has made comparison between KL & Bangkok but I beg to differ, I feel that though KL may have the spankiest malls .. it however lacks in personality, it feels bland, cold even. Living in this city sometimes makes me feel mechanical, and I don’t even get me started on how much I dislike going into the city. I thank God everyday that I live in KK despite its sand lorries!

Right now our schedule is too tight for me to book us for Bangkok, and more than ever with the business running we can’t travel that often anymore, but till then I’ll just look through some old photos and reminience about the wonderful time we had there.

God Almighty help us!!

I did say in my fb that political views are moderate .. but sometimes i just wanna take a water gun & shoot myself .. or if not at least our so called government leaders .. i've always been very proud to be malaysian but sometimes the "PTB" makes it so darn difficult, point in case the video here ..

March 8 is our election day.

That says it all doesn't it.

I Miss Chilled, Iced, Long ones & American Idol

Not what you think .. *tsk!* *tsk* .. or whatever that you thought ..

What I meant was cold drink mind you, since the sore throat and cough I've been looking longishly at something chilled to drink (the weather these days are superdy duper hot!) .. what I'll do for a teh o ais limau at this point .. gosh!

Today especially after running around from Shah Alam to Sunway to Shah Alam again and then back to KK .. I'm pretty pooped .. sorry for the lack of imagination and content in this post ... a thirsty mind can only secreate that much creative juices ..

But oh wait, before I bid adieu .. did cha catch American Idol last night .. isn't Michael Johns just dreamy .. he's my favourite so far so I'm pretty much rooting for him .. and my other half likes cutie patootie David Archuleta & the dreadlock guy Jason Castro, whom I think i pretty dope (hehehehe pun very much intended) .. anyways it's my blog so I'm gonna post Michael Johns pic here .. teeheehee!

Online shopping is..undeveloped here

Those who know me & know me well .. knows how much i love to just shop, shop, shop, unfortunately for me the passion outruns the cash most times.. and it's not fun .. especially when i see something i really like (read as: it's not a necessity but usually perks up my day real good!) and i can't get it .. arrgghh .. the frustration of it all !!

And then i see other bloggers (usually from overseas) raving about how wonderful online shopping is .. or how great ebay is .. which is on the contrary not the case here in good ol' Malaysia .. the land of nasi lemak and roti canai but not online shopping.. i'm only counting the days (hopefully not too long!) till online shopping becomes a way of life here ..

Till then I'll just peruse thru those beautiful websites that quotes with dollar signs & know that tho' the Malaysian ringgit is growing stronger .. it still will hurt poor little me who earns her monthly keep in Ringgit Malaysia ..

The bug

Me & Niki has been out of commission for the past few days through the weekend due to the bug known as post CNY bug (read: fever, flu, cough & sore throat) .. I'm in the office today after giving a sickie yesterday but am still shivering a bit from the fever, can't eat the meds coz it'll get me drowsy & render me completely useless as well.

To Keren: thousand apologies coz we couldn't attend your CNY hi-tea @ your new home .. perhaps we can drop by for a visit some time after we've all healed properly.

I've crammed 5 days into one post, so here's some photos of our time in AS during the recent CNY break.

Chinese artifact hunting, my dad's & Vicky's fave past time, don't even get me started here!

Day 5 : Breakfast @ Cowboy Market's Leevin Land kopitiam..actually I know it as Telok Wanjah market which is about 5 mins walk from my old school Convent, wanted to eat at the Wan Ton mee kopitiam but it was already sold out and it was only 11am!

3rd day of CNY is "boo lang sai" (lion dance) time! Niki don't mind watching it on tv but is quite scared of the live show..this dance was at my neighbour's house

after the lion dance, went for the famous Lorong Shariff laksa & "ang tau serng" (ais kacang)

Our 5th night in AS, we had dinner in Hup Seng then went over to the Hainan Association for some antique hunting and Niki played on a very ancient xylophone

Day 2 at the Alisan Chinese Antique shop

Reunion Dinner at Ah Lian's Restaurant, serves the best Hokkien mee (prawn mee which is only available for breakfast coz it gets sold out by 11am)

3rd day of CNY was pool time for Niki, that's Vicky in his macho pose and the two new pups

2nd day of CNY is my dad's birthday, we had steamboat at home, that's Vicky fanning the charcoal since my dad prefers the old school steamboat, Sue Hay and Uncle Yap joined in!

Tis the Sixth Day of CNY

Hey everyone, we just got back from a long CNY break where we returned home to AS, will write more later coz right now work beckons!

A jalan-jalan cari makan weekend!

Omigosh, the rush from last weekend.

We had so much food, I don't think I can imagine eating for the rest of today.

Saturday was Tony Roma @ Sunway with Aunty Daph & little chicca; had pan grilled pacific cod which was so heavenly ..and i asked for the buttered scampi topping & it was good (and rather unhealthy la; c'mon la my fish was practically swimming in the butter sauce)

Sunday was with Aunty Daph and Aunty Ammu only at The Curve's weekend market, left Niki at Amama's and had a girl's day out; which literally translates as eating, shopping, shopping, window-shopping, and eating again, yes in that order. Had so much girlie fun as only girls can..yesterday night ..officially passed out by midnight!

And yes, here's an early pre Gong Xi Fa Cai to all of you, I wish you & your family abundance of love, joy, happiness; good health and wealth as we usher in the year of the mouse.
