Working Lunch

Just dropped by at the Sime Darby Convention just now for a site inspection for our forthcoming Annual dinner, ok tho' and not at all too shabby. Had lunch at Halia (which means ginger in Malay), the fried Kueh Teow with Tiger Prawn is nice, so is the Spicy Seafood Spaghetti. And yeah just say no to the Popiah!

Will go back there again for lunch or dinner coz the ambience is not bad, quiet & nice.

The Rooster Year comes to a close

And so as we Chinese prepare to celebrate the Lunar New Year, we will close the curtain for the year of the Rooster. As we usher in another new year I can't help but think of the good things that we were blessed with this year, as we hope that the year of the Golden Oink will bring bigger and better things.
I await with abated breath as the New Year sweeps in a flurry of festivities fuelled with non-stop eating, ang pow giving and good cheer all round. Again, we'll be performing the exodus together with the rest of the immigrants who came to KL in search of a better life, back to our "heong ha" or kampung/hometown where we came from. So I'm sure the roads will be clogged tomorrow, but like I always say, road trip is always fun!

Gong Xi Fa Cai, Sin Nian Kuai Le

Here’s wishing one and all a very Happy & Prosperous New Year.

May the Year of the Golden Oink greet you with abundance of wealth, good health & happiness throughout.

Happy Holidays, all!

Oh Boy!

I've been so swamped with work that I've not eaten lunch for the last 2 days, yesterday which was Thursday was the same, wish me luck today!
At this rate I needn't go on a diet, do I?

Streamboat Dreamboat

Vicky made steamboat dinner last night, we went to the grocer’s and bought a host of greens, mushrooms, fishballs, fish, squid, chicken and not to forget the tomyam paste. Came home got Vicky’s parents and sis to come by, my sis and a neighbour dropped in as well and all of us sat down for a yummy albeit a long dinner! Was stuffed by the end of the evening.

Maybe do the same thing when we go back to AS, for the reunion dinner ;-) no more charcoal stuff, still remember what happened 2 years ago!

Our Melaccan Weekend

sunday at the animal safari

saturday nite @ cowboy town

saturday morning @ the water park

So here we are at A'Famosa Resort Melaka for the weekend.

Checked into B814 Villa De'Lagos, a four bedroom bungalow type with a private pool which we did not use. Ok lar coz before going I kinda read some not so flattering remarks about A'Famosa thru Trip Advisor and was prepared for the worse, but I was pretty surprised to see that it was not as bad, we drove up Saturday, we cut the trip shorter and was only there from Sat-Sun. More than enough though to cover the Water Park, Safari World & Cowboy town.

But the weather was damn the hot and I kinda got heat stroke combined with a bad bout of food poisoning! I'm such a Candle Princess!!!!! Thank God that Vicky & Niki was spared! The food there was horrible throughout, as someone we know put it which sums it pretty good which was "consistently bad"

Niki enjoyed the Animal safari and Water park of course, and at the safari she met some really cute goats and even got a bottle to feed them with! Niki was really excited and was screaming and yelping and wooping, too! She made a few little friends too!! Check the photos! We patted lions, tigers, elephants, ponies, lambs, goats, birds, almost everything Noah brought! The whole experience was definitely better than Zoo Negara can ever get!

Drove back yesterday, we were all pretty darn tired and had an early night! And to think less than a week from now we'll be travelling back to Alor Setar and then onwards to Langkawi for the CNY hols!

Crocs!

I just came from Giant and brought for Vicky and myself – faux Crocs to match with Niki, now I pray that the size I bought will fit Vicky’s gargantum toe! Navy blue for Vicky and fuchsia for me!

Reasons why we gotta have ‘em include ;

1) to match Niki first and foremost
2) we’re gonna go to the beach first in Melaka and Langkawi the week after, so it’s more like a necessity ain’t it?
3) Can’t think of anymore other than they look really ugly/cute?!!?

Weekend @ A'Famosa Resort Melaka

Heading down to Melaka after work today for the weekend, planning to bring Niki over to the safari park and water park.Updates and pics when we come back.
Have a good weekend, y'all!

Let's Talk About the weather

The weather is totally haywire nowadays,

See here is Niki squinting in the morning sun today!

It was only about 8.45am and the sun was a-blazing, apparently we are heading into months and months of drought

which means; no rain and the climate will be hotter than usual oh joy!

and to think just two weeks' ago it was raining non stop.
Lesson today; when there's nothing to blog about you can always talk about the weather! teeheehee.

Year of the Oink

This year it’s the year of the Golden Oink!
Obviously a good year for all those born in the year of the Piggy!
I was reading my Chinese horoscope (I’m a rabbit) and guess what my most compatible partner is a Horse, and Vicky is a Horse and I’ll get along best with people born under the Horse and Monkey year, and Niki is a Monkey, is it all a coincidence? Well I don’t know but intriguing ain’t it?

Bliss

The weekend was bliss, the Hilton was absolutely decadent, we pampered ourselves, there was a lot of R & R and the pool was freezing so we filled the tub in the room instead. Our room was overlooking the pool so Niki get to look at the pool all the time.

Had dinner at Chilli’s and we officially inducted Niki into the club scene. The Big Band was playing and Niki really enjoyed their show and showed her appreciation with lots of clapping and wooping.

Breakfast on Sunday morning was divine, the spread they had was good, there’s lots and lots of food of course and oh lala they had a juice counter with a chef stationed there squeezing the fruits fresh like Marche. You can have you pick of the normal stuffs of opt for tomato, dragonfruit, banana or anything that might tickle your fancy.

Felt really reluctant checking out and checking back into reality but we’ll be back! And moreover the CNY hols are just around the corner!

Our Day at the Curve, Ikano & Ikea

brunch @ marche-movenpick

more eating @ the Coffee Bean

pussy willow shopping @ ikea

last pit stop @ sakae sushi

Yesterday omg we had so much fun, and Aunty Daphne joined us.
It was a day filled with eating in three different places in a span of 5 hours with a bit of CNY shopping thworn in for good measure! Pix tells all!
Actually I ate very little if you zoom in on the pix you can see that it's my other half doing the major chowing. He even finished the munchkin's strawberry ice-cream or better known as cream to Niki.
After Sakae Sushi I was stuffed and even said no to sashimi which is very, very unlike me!
Arrgghh on not so fair weather news I'm gonna go visit my dentist today for a root canal, it's been long overdue, and it hurt like poo, need to get it fixed asap! But *cry* I hate seeing the dentist!
But tomorrow..it's the Hilton so yay!
