Our daughter is growing up so fast!

This morning Niki amazed me, she went to her shoe drawer took out her fave slippers those double velcro kind and wore them herself while sitting at the bottom of the staircase. She can more or less communicate with us now which is so much fun and she's learning new words everyday. Hitherto, Niki is growing up sooo fast! And when she does a magic trick she'll go like ta-da! So cute..I'm gushing incessantly right? cue for me to log off then, but before that;
I am proud to say that Vicky got us a new cutie pie chandelier, a little baroque antique type! So cantik! Wonderful choice hon! So this is a shout out to you for getting us the perfect chandelier for our living hall!

Happy Birthday, Niki!

It's November first!
My Niki is 2 today! *happy clap*

Smothered her with kisses and hugs,
and we discovered that she's a big girl now
coz apparently our wet sloppy kisses makes her jijik!

can you imagine!!??!!
and we "made" her right, and she finds our kisses yucky!

Aiyoh! the horror :-)

Anyways on the same note, we can go out for a nice b'day celebration tonight!
I'm thinking Secret Recipe!
*happy, happy dance!*

On a more serious note, mommy & daddy just wanna say that we love you very, very much. you are our life and you are the most wonderful thing ever to happen to us. We are indeed blessed to have you! xxooxx to our munchkin!!

Happy Halloween, All

My parents are in town, first my dad's IJN appointment and secondly for Niki's forthcoming birthday this Saturday.

It was Halloween yesterday and dang, its not a big thing here, if only - it'll be so much fun dontchathink? Trick a treating for the kids and the adults get to go with them and take a peek at their neighbour's without looking like a big kay-poh!

For the uninitiated here's a couple of interesting facts and origins of Halloween,

The youths of agrarian societies of Scotland and Ireland celebrated ‘All Hallow’s Eve’, the forerunner of Halloween, as the occasion to indulge into foretelling of their marital prospects using crops. Halloween basically originated in Scotland and Ireland as All Hallow's Eve. With time, these casual games turned into customary Halloween rituals. Scottish youths used to go out in the night of Halloween blindfolded. They would pluck the first colewort (a type of cabbage) that comes their way along with the roots. The length of the stalk was used to determine the height of the future spouse and the amount of earth clinging to the roots was thought to be the indicative of the wealth and prosperity of the couple.

Some youths would even hang the stalks over the door and would try to guess the names of their future spouse from the first names of the people who enter or leave the door. Scottish women also used to place two nuts in the fireplace. They named the nuts after themselves and their boyfriends. This Nut Cracker ritual was believed to indicate the faithfulness and loyalty of the couple towards each other. The nut that jumped or cracked was thought to be indicative of unfaithfulness of the person after whom that nut was named. If both the nuts burned silently and simultaneously, the couple was said to be faithful towards each other and was indicative of their marriage.

Jack-o'lanterns have their origin in a legend of Ireland. There was an old man called Jack who had never done a good thing in life. He would just drink and play pranks upon people. Thus he was a favored servant of Satan. However, once when Satan was about to win over God, Jack tricked him into defeat.

After his death, he could not enter the heaven because of his evil ways. He went to Satan for help who only threw a burning coal on him. The coal landed into the half-eaten pear (another version cites turnip) of Jack and thus it became the first lantern of Jack or Jack-o'lantern. In United States, pumpkins replaced pears/turnips as they were bigger and easier to hollow out and were readily available. Pumpkin carving and making Jack-o'lanterns are popular activities of Halloween.
Aight, its lunchtime and its raining, so whatever shall I have for lunch? Any ideas?

I heart Wrapz

There's this thing called Wrapz that I love to bits, so one day last week during our weeklong break, Vicky, Niki, Ah Fatt & myself plodded off to Summit to walk around aimlessly and then ate my fave Chicken and Cheese wrapz! Yum! Makes me feel like having one now!

Hanging Out at the Curve

We were at the Curve last Friday, shopped at Ikea for some home stuffs and then had Teppanyaki!

We love Ikea, coz it's really child friendly, unforch I had food poisoning that day due to some bad food the night before, actually Vicky had it too but his was much more controlled, I visited loo-loo land like 3 times at Ikano! And we also hunted for Niki's birthday party packs there! All in all it was a really nice, of course all the shopping burnt a big hole in Vicky's pockets at the end, but we had tons of fun!

Aquaria KLCC

We went to the Aquaria last week with Siva, Joey and their kids.

Aquaria is mucho expensive like RM28 per adult and RM22 per kid, thank God, Niki is still a tot and is free! I know I know I'm really el-cheapo one! The weather outside was so nice and we had a nice stroll on the KLCC gardens afterwards, we were there on Hari Raya Day 1 which was the 24th! And boy were there a lot of people.

Me and Niki got identical green anti-shark fin tees at the giftshop! And we wore it to Darsha's birthday party that same night!

Deepavali was a blast!

Just some quickie posts coz I'm swamped with work!

It was, there was lots of food and because of that everyone was naturally happy.

Here's a couple of pictures, I was so busy layaning guests that I totally forgot to take pictures!

Open house at Vicky's mom, and everyone we invited turned up in full force, worse that Ravi's man!

Nix wore her red pavade, that her Amama designed and sew, red is definitely her colour she looked excellent! It was at night and my I forgot the flash and hence really dark photos!

It's the eve of Deepavali

In the office, finishing off work, writing this post (and doing my mani & pedi as well! I'm natural multi-tasker) before the onset of the weeklong hols in conjunction with deepavali and hari raya. Yay! No work is always good and was telling Vicky this morning that we can just go anywhere we want to, just hang and do totally nothing he said that I deserved this break, I think so too!

Anyways I wanna wish one and all happy deepavali and selamat hari raya and of course happy holidays!

I'm on a break so there won't be much updates from me!

Out of Commission

Chances are I'll won't be in to work tmr, coz I think I'm coming down with something.
Feel damn bad and feeling a bit tired, that's usually how I feel when I catch something and my throat's sore, which I think is because of the haze again. Gawd, I hope I don't pass it to Vicky or Niki coz then that'll really be poop!
It's 4.15pm now, I'll have to last another 1.5hrs in the office before I get to go off! I feel so sleepy, think I'm gonna shut my door and take a snooze now!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz................

Tiara Beach Resort, baby!

Ammu and Niki slides

Vicky & Niki slides too

Niki is a big girl now

Niki and her floaties

Niki skims the water with her bum

So after the Allson I checked out with Vicky, Niki & Ammu in tow and we took a short drive to the Tiara Beach Resort, Port Dickson where we'll be spending a night.

Once we reached the parking lot Niki was so super excited already, she was pointing at the pool & saying pom-pom (means bath to her). We stayed at the Family room so it was big enough for all of us and Ammu and Niki bunked together while Vicky & I had some quiet time together.

I'm so tanned now and so is Niki and Vicky, and not to mention I hope none of us get the sniffles, coz we really spent a lot of time in the water! It's afterall Deepavali in just 5 days' time!!! Now where's my vits??!!??

My Working Retreat to the Allson Klana

the view from my seminar room, it was facing the pool and gardens, found my gaze wondering about more than once!

all the cockles I ate!

entertainment while we ate!

from the lobby

The Allson was quite a nice place quite picturesque, lots of greens and smells of it to which I like, the retreat was a big *yawn* but productive no doubt, highlight was when Richard the trainer did with us Qigong exercises, now I must repeat to myself to do it daily and not procrastinate. Qigong is nice and its enjoyable and it feels good once you've done it. It feels so right for a lazy ass like me.

Nothing much except ate alot and now I have to go back starving myself. Food there was wonderful everything tasted soooo nice. Here's the pictures, nothing much happened with me though except that I missed Vicky & Niki like crazy!

Deepavali ..Festival of Lights

Deepavali is just right around the corner,
21 October to be exact..
a day filled with glorious, glorious food, cookies, candy and more food.
Every year we congregate at Vicky's mom's place..this year the tradition of course continues..

And I just learnt from Amma that she baked my favourite cornflour cookies yesterday yippee!

It's always nice that the whole clan can get together and just hangout one whole day and at night we'll light some firecrackers ..the kiddies loves it, and I bet the adults aka the ones lighting it enjoys it even more..

For the uninitiated & those who'd like to know more about Deepavali click here

More importantly, it's a day where we all can come together, and when there 's good food to be had, it's always good!

I'm inviting a couple of my old buddies over too, to catch up..

And the thing with Deepavali is it really holds fond memories for me because Niki celebrated her first Deepavali 2 years ago with us, she was only about a month old back then in 2004! And our sweetie will be nearly 2 years old this coming one... !! It's a wonderful feeling..can't wait..

I'm Gonna Miss You Both..very, very much!

I'm going for a Strategic Business Retreat for 3 days and 2 nights from tomorrow in Seremban, and
I'm gonna miss Vicky & Niki so very much.. :-(
It's work and I really don't have any choice..*grinds teeth*
On the bright side Vicky & Niki will join me on Saturday after my retreat thing and we're hopping over to Pt Dickson for the weekend for a "retreat" of our own.

Lunch in BSC

Niki on the escalator, beaming

Yesterday was a public holiday in Selangor! Yay!

Plodded over to BSC's Mr Ho's Fine Foods for lunch..

1300-88-2525

The haze is really getting from bad to worse, and the API level is close to fatal..
I'm not getting my butt out of the office just for lunch and so I ordered Pizza Hut. Felt sorry for the dude that delivered it tho' he didn't have a mask on, I told him to go get one! Am munching on a hawaiian chic personal pan & sipping pepsi, wonderful!

Shopping Up a Storm

Vicky is spent, from shopping that is, we went to klang then head over to kl central, the haze was not very kind as well, and now I have the mother of all sore throats.
But the good thing is I had retail therapy, got myself new cosmetics, & loads of othernew stuff, and shopped in elianto for cosmetics instead of mac, it's way cheaper and its actually not that bad y'know, I've been using their gloss for quite a while now and tho it might not be stilla or dior its pretty fab.
So my new stash from yesterday was

1) a replescent white saree

2) a ruby red hobo style punjabi suit

3) a funky white punjabi suit with sequins

4) new makeup ie. glosses, nail polishes including the it colour for this season noir, a blusher, an eye brow pencil, honey body scrub (for my honey)

5) 3 cool copper earrings

6) a new faux Gucci sunnies

7) Vicky got himself a new ripcurl cap, 2 diesel watches and sunnies too

I have pictures which I'll post later,

Vicky's mom and sis scored some nice new stuffs too.

So all of us girls, we're happy, now all I have to do is look for the right handbag .... hmmmm ...

Anyways its a public holiday tmr, going to 1U with Vicky and I truly want to get him something nice for deepavali. Sometimes I feel so pampered by him, and I know how hard he works to give me all this luxuries, which I take for granted sometimes. It's surprising no?

And I was once worried about our age diff of three years when we first got together.

For this Deepavali, I would like to thank the good Lord for giving me this wonderful person who has lightened up my life in so many, many ways,

Hon, I want to let you know how much I love you, how much I cherish you and how much I appreciate you.. and I'm sorry for not saying it often enough ..and after nearly a decade together, I want to let you know that I love you more now than ever! I love you, baby forever ..
