Jamming in Bangkok

This fine dining restaurant where we had dinner on Sunday night at Khaosan Rd; the atmosphere was magical

Niki do lunch @ Chester's Grill

The next few photos are taken at Manna in Siam Paragon which serves authentic Thai food amidst the most beatiful setting ever

Siam Paragon

Siam Paragon is filled with designer names, Hermes, Armani, Gucci, Chanel.

MBK, where I did my shopping

the road towards MBK is filled with lorongs with more shops, finally the term shopper's paradise makes sense

the square at the novotel where we had our morning breakfast

the incredible amount of pastries and bread available

and the pastry chef makes the bread live

there's even a stir fry corner, where they stir fry veggies, noodles and anything else that you'd like to have for breakfast

our room really made us feel welcome

splash! the poolside

view from the lift at our floor, we were at the 10th

At the Suvarnabhumi Airport
which is spanking new

Bangkok was superb! We stayed at the Novotel Bangkok @ Siam Square, which was worth every cent we paid, coz the location was excellent, its a 5 min walk to Siam Paragon and MBK. Ate so much that I'm swearing off food until Christmas.

And the Thai hospitality is second to none, I didn't even have to press the lift button coz there's a Security personnel stationed at every lift entrance ! It was luxurious and very, very decadent, one word sums up the whole vacay.. Superb is rather apt. Had so much fun, already planning my next trip, teeheehee! Just did a small bit of shopping and the rest was loads and loads of much needed pampering and R & R.
I'll let our photos do the talking..

Selangor Rocks

The weekend was basiclytwo full days of just staying at home! And then on Monday, we finally left the house after hybernating in it for the past 2 days!
When it comes to public hols, there's just so many more than KL, I mean Selangor celebrates Nuzul Al-Quran, Thaipusam and the State Sultan's birthday (which was a yesterday), that means we have an extra of 3 days as compared to KL. Hence, Selangor Rocks!
So yesterday was a public holiday, love Monday PH, so nice woke up late then plodded to Sunway Pyramid so Niki can see some Christmas cheer, since the trees in malls are usually so much nicer, and huge, and full of lights. Had lunch at Delifrance, walked a bit, did a bit of accessory shopping for Vicky and Niki before heading to Coffee Bean for an IBM. Niki had soime too, and was on a bit of a caffeine hi! teeheehee, yeah we're horrid parents that feed their offspring coffee!
Then it's off to Summit USJ for somemore shopping, for the chipmunk lah not us.
Anyways, its 3 more days before all of us head off to Bangkok for a short break! Can't wait, MBK and Siam Paragon, here we come!

Baby Boom

Phew, just got back from DSH, we visited Karen & Dennis with the new baby, Baby Kaylie.
Who was asleep when we visited her, but like all babies, is cute, that it just melts you up inside.
Vicky was the man in charge to pick up a nice little caregift from mothercare and got her a real cute babytub, a 366-day storybook, a story each for Karen to read for everyday of the year and 6 pieces of those bodysuits that I loved so much (yonks ago when I used to dress Niki only in those)

Congrats to both the newbie mom&dad, you have a wonderful journey ahead!

Free Soup is a Good Thing

tank full of seafood

the nyonya tilapia, stir-fried potato leaves and the free soup!

gggrrrrr..who makes a better monster?
Being a chinese means I have a weird fascination of drinking clear soup with dinner, being chinese means that to me soup is a great accompaniment, but being chinese also rather than dish out RM10-12 for soup I'd rather cook it myself or not order it!

And so we managed to scout out another makan place in KK that offers the big fry concept, it's called Kar Lok Seafood Restaurant and the best thing is whatever you order they'll throw in a big bowl of soup of the day! Vicky abdolutely loves to eat there and can't get enough of their food and Kuk-fa Cha (Chrysanthemum tea).

We ate there yesterday night. I'm supposed to be cutting down my food but darn the temptation got the better of me!

And so the free soup will guarantee our repeated patronage! We're such gluts!

Ok more later after I visit Karen who just ushered in Baby Kaylie!

I'm Cured

Slept through like a baby! Feels good!
Yup the pillow was the problem, and now problem solved, yay!

The Imsomniac!

I've been having sleepless nights lately where I get about 4 hours of intermitten sleep throughout the night. I always unwind with a nice book or magazine before going to bed and we have a night lamp that I used for reading hence my room is usually bathed in a sexy dim, and yet I am hardly getting any sleep. I've raked my brains and it has come to this...I need to change pillows, those Ikea pillows are just not working for me, during lunch just now I bought 4 new plush pillows & when I get home I'll revamp all our room's pillows, whethere this will work or not, not sure, but will let you know on the results of my experiment tomorrow!

Winter Wonderland

We were at Subang Parade yesterday, and that was the jingle that was going on and on and on.. went for my salon appointment with Sasi and now have updated my bob crop, I asked him whether a pixie will be ok for me but he advised me against it as it could turn out to be a wee bit severe for my face.

And then we went over to Dave's Deli for dinner while picking out our food, we saw a baby roach and told the counter girls about it, and apparently its a daily occurence, we were really taken aback by their nonchalant attitude towards hygiene, we still ordered but we got hot kitchen food and just asked for bottled water, and I told them to wash the plates that they were gonna give us with hot water and made sure they dried it before they served us, so if anyone of you are fond of Dave's Deli, beware roach alert.

I mean we were talking over dinner, and Vicky remembered the time when he was hanging out there and the place was like good and was even measurable up to TGIF but over the years they have sure jatuh standard. We had a nice slow dinner, and then had coffee at Coffee Bean before we went over to Tribal Spirit, they had a really eclectic and vintage collection of clothes which is soooo nice to look at and Vicky bought a really nice CD there too, hypnotic Tibetian songs that sounded a lot like enya but in tibetan. Excellent stuff!

Then it was a heart to heart alone time for us (Niki spent the night over at her Gran's), from our discussion I come to realize what Vicky said was true, I can get so caught up in stuff that I've been removed from reality in a lot of aspects. And it is time for me now to get back to who I was, what I cherished, what my priorities were, in a lot of ways I've become so obssesed over so many things that's not supposed to be important. I mean how shallow was I. It's about time for me to reflect and what better time to do it than now the present, in this season, Christmas, where our Lord gave himself up for us, the sacrifice He made, that I have forgotten momentarily. To know that there are kids, mothers, fathers, people, out there less fortunate. I have to remember, all these. To not use the word "only". To give and not only to receive. Loveand Home is where the heart is. Hon, please forgive me for my ignorance, thank you for awakening me, for reminding and for keeping me grounded. I love you, and I love us. I want to let you know that I can do this, just believe in me always and hold my hand, be there for me..I Love You!

My Little Linguist

Niki is a hybrid of Chinese and Indian parentage. *points up*, the munchkin in her red hot cheong sam (cheong sam means long dress in cantonese actually)

Because of that she really sounds really cina sometimes when she speaks,

which is utterly adorable.

Vicky thinks so too, and call her his "Ah Lian" in an affectionate manner of course since her middle name is LeeAnn, say it quick enough and repeatedly it'll sound a lot like "Ah Lian" geddit?

Even at the tender age of 2 years and 1 month she showing signs that she'll have no problem being tri-lingual at least (english, cantonese/hokkien and tamil)

Ok cioo seen ok, ngor wui chee tik lin lok, hai li pin ok.

Eden's @ Subang Parade

Had lunch there just a bit ago, the food however did not preceed its reputation -- but it's a nice change to lunches in Glenmarie and U2, so won't whine so much!
Said won't eat anything heavy and still gobbled down a whole plate of spaghetti bolognaise and a coke! sshhheeesshhh! where the heck is my discipline?

Christmas Is Coming!!

And we're going to put up our tree at last this weekend, it's totally overdue but
because of our hectic schedules, we can only finally get down to it this week!
Nvm, I'm sooo looking forward to it coz i just can't wait to see Niki's face light up when we light the tree! It'll be her 3rd Christmas. And playing Christmas carols and just sit by the tree at night...mmmmmm...

The Aging Process

A bit premature to discuss but nevertheless it looms in our future,
how will we be when we are old and helpless to help ourselves?
Will we be brave enough to face it? When wrinkles really show and no amount of SKII helps
and when white hairs are to much to cover with the occassional visit to the salon?
Will we be able to grow old gracefully?
But as long as we are together, I'm brave enough to face anything, all I need is YOU!

Bee's

Had tea at Bee's yesterday afternoon, irregardless of the fact that I'm still nursing my fever.
Usually the one that eat the most *moi* ordered only a very humble toast and warm water
OMG!
.. had one of best toast ever! The bread was soooo fresh can pengsan dot com, the kaya & the butter just melted into the bread making it oh so delicious! Oh did I mention I was on medical yesterday so therefore had the luxury of having tea?
