After attending school for 2 months, Niki is coming along wonderfully.

And being curious and inquisitive, she loves to learn, I'm still reeling from the fact that she's now school going.

Ok my boss is calling for lunch, gotta continue this later then.

Last Monday, we went for an impromptu birthday party for Devan who turns one. Devan is a chindian kid in every sense of the word coz he converses in Cantonese, coz he lives in HK. His version of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star is in Cantonese as well. Niki and I were more than amused. Coz the only version she & I know is the England one.

Anyways, I don't have many a photo with Niki and hubby dearest took one of us. Don't mind the chubby cheeks it was that time of the month plus I had two helpings of the vegetarian food that thet were serving. Kononlah don't want to eat meat coz wanna diet but makan twice the usual amount instead. I'll never win the battle of the bulge I tell you!

Niki the Water baby

Niki's been consistently asking us to send her for swim classes. And I mean every word when I say consistent.

Monday morning, "Mummy I wanna go swimming classes"

Me, "Ok baby"

Tuesday morning, "I wanna go swimming classes"

Me, "Ok well see baby"

It went on Wednesday and Thursday as well

And today, "Ma, send me to swimming classes"

Me, "You really want swim classes?"

She, "Yes, Mummy and I wanna wear my swimming suit"

Me, "Ok, baby, Mummy'll put out the tub for you tomorrow and you can go splishy splashy ok, now go to school first"

She, "Ok mummy, thank you!"

..and when I sent her to school today, I brought along a tube of smarties for her to share out with her little buddies as well, and the girl shouted "Thank you, Mummy before running into her school" .. Too sweet, can pengsan!

Well back to the topic of swimming, what I'm gonna do tomorrow is, put out the big water tub for her in the garden with lukewarm water and her floaties, and she can splash there till she shrivel up -- as for classes, well she'll have to turn 3 first, that's in 3 months' time ..then we'll send her for classes at the Kota Permai Club -- maybe!

What type are you?

Met Linda from Poppy Pet House today during breakfast at my usual haunt. Got into a conversation about what type of dog will be suitable since she's having a sale for toy dogs at RM999 inclusive of its certificate at her shop. Those on sale are shih tzu by the way. And she suggested that a poodle will be a good choice since even though they're hairy they do not shed apparently. So what do you think people, a poodle? Oh yeah, and poodles are extremely loyal and worships the ground their owners walk on.. heeheehee.

The pic above is that of a mini poodle, and nope they don't have to look like those in TV with the afro look instead their fur can be styled into a lamb look for easier maintenance. Cute huh?

The kid's all grown up.

Yesterday, we got Niki's school pic which was taken with the rest of her classmates. Niki was sitting in the middle in the first row, and we got a taste of how much the kid has grown. Ho-hum feels like only yesterday she was a baby and now baby's all grown and have made a bunch of friends in school. And yup' she's a popular kid to boot, even those kids in K1 and K2 (the 5 to 6 year olds, knows her by name!)

Me & Vicky had a chat with the school pricipal to just gauge how Niki's doing in school, bottomline is all is good and she's adapting really well and is quite independant. And today, I sopke to her class teacher as well to make sure that she's adapting well, she is, actually and well all this comments just makes all feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Fun In The Sun

Saturday night, dinner at Fei Chai Seafood, between 4 of us ate 3.25kg crabs..dang!

We were in PD last weekend for a makan angin short break kinda getaway to PD Tiara. Ate, napped, walked on the Kemang Beach, ate loads of tropical fruits and basicly hung out with Vicky's parents & sis. Here's some pix, I know I've shared so little pictures so I'm making up for it right now.

A little R & R

Gonna head for some much needed R & R but poor me will be "working" from a laptop from the said holiday spot. It's been ages since we went up to PD, gonna head out tomorrow for 2 days. Ahh.. fun in the sun for Niki and her Daddy!

Marching that makes you go .. Awwww..

Today as we sent Niki to school, yeah today both me & Vicky sent her to school, just to make a fuss..and we were late so had to pack her breakfast on the go, she requested for sausages so I made her those and cut them into itty bitty cube size for her to chow later. It was 8.45am and they have a rehersal for the Merdeka Lantern festival that the school is gonna organize in conjunction with our national day.. and the kids will be marching and singing to that song.. that starts ... Tanggal 57... a really upbeat patriotic song.

And Niki and her class will be in the march to.. Niki's been practicing her march at home but to see it live with the rest of the kids .. well that's one of those things that makes you go ...aaawwww ain't that cute. So that's exactly how we felt.. so proud of our leet Nik.

Love It

Was on retail therapy recently, and found this gem of a store called Love It (there's on at Ikano and one at Subang Parade), no doubt there's no missoni or pucci draped on its rack but the place is stocked instead with cute and really cheap outfits, go find one today and enjoysome retail therapy.

Spanking tech!

I got a spanking new handphone about 5 weeks or so back. It's the Alcatel with lots of bling features, and I have pictures of Niki innit, but heck I can't get it to download, ^%$& technology! I'm so frustrated right now coz my blog has got no photos! Dang the thang! Ai sei try again la .. la dee da ..

Hanging with the girls

Wow-wee the weekend just zoomed by, Ammu & my sis temaned me & Niki through the weekend, and when girls get together, there's only one thing on our agenda, on Saturday combed Subang Parade and yesterday me, Niki & Aunty Daph did Curve and Ikano. Niki really luurrvveess shopping, she's well on her way to becoming a shopaholic soon, and no thanks to her Mummy as well.

Niki despite being a bit tired trooped on, like a real shopaholic would, and in my daughter I'm beginning to see buds of a fashionista as well, she chooses her own duds y'know. And have a cute sense of style. Daddy's pocket gonna get very light when this one grows up.

Playing catch-up

My friend Karen called me a few days back to meet up, see, I'm lucky I have friends like her who really make an effort to catch up. Karen was my college buddy a long long time ago when I took up Hotel Management, and really apart from looking better as every year passes, she has not changed a bit, still funny, warm with a wonderful sense of Malaysian humour.

Well not that much has changed actually, except that these days Karen & Dennis totes their their 7 month old Kaylie for our late lunch at Friday's @ The Curve. Just a few months back I blogged that Karen welcomed her bundle of joy into the world and swoosh, seven months has passed and Kaylie now has 4 teeth already and well on her way to taking her first baby steps. The girl is adorable I tell you, nice and chubby with cute doe eyes reminience of Karen's own.

So we caught up with our lives over scrumptious food, and had an absolutely wonderful time together. Kaylie was ever nice and stayed alert and happy throughout our long lunch, and it was Niki who got antsy, and wanted to go shopping. We of course took her once we said our goodbyes to Karen, Dennis and Kaylie.

On the way into the Curve, Niki saw Baskins and forced her Daddy to get her ice-cream. She finished it all by herself and Mommy and Daddy didn't get any, well we got to wipe the ice-cream off her face though. Big bully that one I tell you!

More so, in the case of Niki and her Daddy.

Those two had a battle of "let's see who's the stubborn one" yesterday.

Each one with their own stand, and refusing to backdown.

Me, yeah I'm stuck with the role of a mediator, and mediated a truce between the two, Niki finally gave in and said sorry to her Daddy and her Daddy also gave in and accepted her apology with a hug.

Finally, the " I don't want to friend you" war was over .. after 40 minutes!

Today, it was raining, and the girl didn't want to wake up for school, but when she was up she already buddy-buddy with her Daddy, and the supremely stubborn duo were the best of friends again.

The kindy report

Came back to the office half past two, had a 45 min chat with Niki's kindy principal. Very enlightening, talked about kiddies and stuff, and I guess being a parent today is not as straight-forward as it was back in our day. There's a lot involved and though I may not always know the right thing to do for Niki, of course we'll try our best to provide the best we can for her.

Anyways back to the kindy report, well I found out how they put 30 kids to bed at the same time :-) and saw Niki taking her afternoon nap together with some of her little friends, mental note : to get a bigger blankie for her, well she's not as small as we thought she was! Niki's doing very well at school actually and has her own little gang, ie. Nicholas aka Mohawk Boy (he's got a funky mohawak cut) and Shiu Ling, a cute little girl with a pixie cut. The gang plays together and hang together, according to the principal she does mix with the other kids pretty well but likes the twosome the best!

And after 3 weeks' Niki has learnt how to share, play together, and knows that she can't always get her way.

I'm so Behind

On my blogging, I've meaning to blog but didn't seem to have the time these past few days. I think it's because of work, yeah I'm gonna blame it on work.

Anyways in about half an hour time I'm gonna drop by Niki's kindy for a surprise visit, just to check up on her and how's she's doing in school. Her teacher said that's she doing fine but I'm still curious. Actually I'm curious on how she gets on with her classmates, how she interacts and of course how she's doing the mass napping thing. I mean, c'mon how do they get a whole bunch of 30-odd kids below 6 to take their nap all at the same time, that's an accomplishment, ain't it?

So I'll be off soon and I'll report once I get back.

Autobots roll out!

After all the super hype about the movie we finally went and saw it! and OMG it does live up to all the hype! We love it! I loved it! I like Bumblebee coz he is just so darn cute and not to mention he's canary yellow so he kinda remind me of "Tweety" my jeep!

Also we need to bring Niki to go watch Harry Potter, coz she's been asking and we've been ignoring her requests, cannot ignore much longer coz she can be persistent! Seriously, I've never seen a more persistent kid and she's got this elephant memory thing that's kinda scary and irritating at the same time.

Heheheh! and Niki's Mommy & Daddy got to go out last Saturday night and relive past glories, we went to Modesto's and Orange @ Hartamas, it was fun and ended the night with a whopper jr, so it was perfect!

We went and fetched her from Vicky's parent's place yesterday afternoon and boy was the kid angry actually there's a better term than angry which can be initialled as f-g p-d but this blog has a pg-13 tag so no obsenities, hence we shall contend with really angry! Well managed to get back to her good books by watching kipper and pingu 3x on the way home!

Niki's 2 years and 8 months

Our baby is now 2 years & 8 months old.

Our baby can now say "Niki don't want to friend, Daddy or Mummy!"in an indignant tone :-)

Is always blue, nothing's ever gonna change that!

Grouchy me sent Niki to school at 8.25am and went to the office,

at 9.30 - 9.45 had nasi lemak and iced coffee, and stomach's not feeling too good now.

On a brighter note, we went school shooping for Niki last Saturday, got her a new lime green keroppi backpack and spongebob water bottle for school ( I simply, utterly love both of these!!!)and a spanking new pair of jeans among other things. Niw if only I can find her the perfect pair of summer thongs in lime green as well.

I wanna sleep!

It's Sunday, and its pouring outside.

Which is quite nice coz most Sundays are sunny days, but today, mmmmm..

the gang's staying at home, Daddy's cooking and we're having a movie marathon,

watches The Pathfinder (gore! slaughter! and more gore!), snoozefest The Last Time (a Micheal Keaton porn at best!) and another one with Adam Sandler & Don Cheadle which was quite good but I can't remember the title.

Niki's taking a late evening nap now.

While her Daddy and I are just chilling and discussing how much we've aged ... cough, splutter I mean .. changed since having Niki! And yeah, I feel like snuggling up with the blankie and snoozing for a bit, too! zzzzzzzzzzzz ..

Nikita at School

Here's some things we learnt about Niki while she's at school:

1) She has 2 friends that we know of by name : Shiu Ling and Nicholas

2) She loves to pay the slides more than the sand box

3) She loves the music and movement classes

4) She recognizes some of her school mates even though they were from different classes and they recognizes her too

5) She can tell her teacher she needs to wee-wee or ka-ka (the same does not apply to me!)

6) The only time she has on diapers in school is when she's sleeping!

7) Drinks more h2o then she does at home (again this I contribute to peer pressure)

8) Her class is currently practising to put on a show for the school's annual concert in October

9) She sits next to the teacher in class

10) She sits on the first row when they are on the floor

Listing all this makes me so proud of my Niki!
